[Anime Review] Naruto

Naruto closely follows the life of a boy who is feared and detested by the villagers of the hidden leaf village of Konoha. The distrust of the boy has little to do with the boy himself, but it’s what’s inside him that causes anxiety.

Long before Naruto came to be, a Kyuubi (demon fox) with great fury and power waged war taking many lives. The battle ensued for a long time until a man known as the Fourth Hokage, Yondaime, the strongest ninja in Konoha, fiercely fought the Kyuubi. The fight was soon won by Yondaime as he sealed the evil demon in a human body. Thus the boy, Naruto, was born.

As Naruto grows he decides to become the strongest ninja in Konoha in an effort to show everyone that he is not as they perceive him to be, but is a human being worthy of love and admiration. But the road to becoming Hokage, the title for the strongest ninja in Konoha, is a long and arduous one. It is a path filled with betrayal, pain, and loss; but with hard work, Naruto may achieve Hokage.

My Very First Japanese Anime Series
Introduced by a friend of mine back in year 2005, Naruto (TV) is the very first Japanese Anime series which I came across and watched in my life. It is a defining production which draws a cut line between western cartoons and Japanese animation.

There are no superheroes in the story and the good does not always prevail nor does evil. The battles are not just about whoever has more power or intelligence and the winner does not always take all. One has to pay a certain price for a certain outcome.

My Thoughts on Naruto (TV)
At first impression, this Anime series looks like it is produced for children aged 7 to 12 years old. However, as the story progresses, the style seems to change with a certain bell curve and reaches a point where the amount of blood violence and gore increases to a point which seems to be only suitable for teenagers aged between 13 to 16 years old.

The story becomes much more serious and intensive over time which impressed me and made me want to continue following it. Overall, this Naruto (TV) has a very deep storyline and plot which makes it very distant from mainstream cartoons and fairy tales meant for young children.

On a side note, Project JeForceX is not an Anime review site and I am not going to delve too deep into criticism and rate this Anime series with a scoring system like what most Anime review sites do. Instead, I prefer to care for my readers by sharing my thoughts and leaving it up to my readers to decide whether they want to invest their time to watch this Anime series.

Sharing is caring right? ^^;
