The Game Interface

Upon pressing any key, players will be greeted with the ship selection screen which they will decide which one to choose.

If you have been invited by a friend to play this game, remember to ask him / her which ship she is on as the SEA version only allows the creation of one free character regardless of which ship you are on.

Any additional characters will cost you 4,400 AC (SGD 4.40) each.
Transferring a character from ship to ship will cost you about 11,000 AC (SGD 11.00).

I am currently playing on Ship 01: Feoh so feel free to add me as a friend if you are playing in the SEA region!

After logging into your game account, you will be presented with the Character Selection Screen.
If you do not have any existing characters on the selected ship, the only option available will be 'Create New Character'.

The characters in PSO2 are very well-designed and beautiful to look at!

The Gameplay

Having selected the character of your choice, your character will start the game at the Gate Area of the game world.

For new players and characters, they will start the game in a separate tutorial map where they will be taught the basics of the game from there. Only upon completion of the in-game tutorial, they will then be transported to the Gate Area as well as for all future log-ins thereafter.

PSO2 is a quest-bound game which is somehow similar to the Monster Hunter franchise which players have to take up quests to explore the world.

Having selected a quest of your choice, you will leave the Gate Area of the Main Ship and get transferred to the Holding Area of the Gate Ship for preparations before launching into the quest area. There are kiosks available such as storage warehouse, quick item shop, ability enhancement, quest selection, and partner recruitment.

Once you are ready, jump into the Launch Pool and your character will be transported into the quest area. Worry not as no characters will get wet jumping into the pool and they will all arrive at the quest area with a clean and dry state. ^^;

After jumping through the Launch Pool, your character will be transported to the quest area.

We have come so far into this feature article but I have not mentioned what exactly is this game about.
To put things in simple terms, PSO2 is about hunting monsters with friends.

At the end of every quest, players will be presented with the scoring screen which displays their performance during the quest as well as their performance rating.

At this point of time, seasoned gamers will be asking more questions such as ..
"Wait a minute .. what do you mean by hunting monsters with friends?"
"Is there anything more to the game aside from hunting monsters like a story mode?"

There is a story feature in the game but it is highly fragmented, tiered, presented together with cutscenes during a quest, and can only be unlocked upon completion of certain quests and achievement-based tasks which is known as the 'Paradigm Matrix'.

Aside from hunting monsters, there are social features available such as chatting with other human players, beautifying your character with items, equipments, and cosmetics, and if you have loads of money sitting around in your bank account, you can design and furnish your very own personal quarters and invite your friends to party with you in private. ^^;
