Funan Anime Matsuri 2015



Funan Anime Matsuri 2015 is a Japanese Popular Culture event which took place on 08 - 14 June 2015 at the
Funan DigitaLife Mall in Singapore. The event offers a wide variety of contents from Anime Merchandises and Anime Screening to Workshops conducted by International Illustrators, Cosplayers, and Photographers.

The Event Location

Located in the midst of Singapore's Central Business District, Funan DigitaLife Mall is home to a number of consumer and lifestyle electronics retailers as well as a growing number of retailers offering Japanese Popular Culture merchandises.

Even though Funan DigitaLife Mall has been around for long time, its interior still brings about a refreshing look fit for many different types of events and roadshows.

The Stage and Workshops

Shirahane Nao (DMYO) is an illustrator who is based in Japan and worked on many Japanese games and visual novels.

The Illustrator Workshop segment showcases the process and techniques used by these professional illustrators.

The audience (aspiring visual artists) were also given a chance to get their burning questions answered by sensei.

IKKYUU is an illustrator from Japan who has worked on remarkable projects such as the Moekana Japanese Language education product by Culture Japan.

While explaining his thought processes and demonstrating drawing techniques on stage, IKKYUU also offered the audience chances to have any character of their choice illustrated by him.

Not So Secret Level: The Creators' Hub

Located right above the event location is the not so secret level known as The Creators' Hub where many Doujin Artisans showcase and sell their works as well as offering on-site artwork commission services.

Collateral Damage Studios (CDS) is one of our favorite artisan groups that produce high quality fan-made works of popular Anime and video game series.

Funan Anime Matsuri 2015, even though being hosted in a shopping mall instead of a convention centre, has a lot more contents to offer than meets the eye. Due to certain photography restrictions during the event, some segments of the event are not being showcased in this feature article.

However, we would like to share with you (in text) that we had lots of fun during the bless4 performance on stage! ^^;
